As scheduled, I added the data that was given to me since April 2000. You can see the on-line status document at:

There are two sets of data still to be entered that are shown on this document: one that has data sets with no metadata (but their completion are in progress) and the other data set is of a special category (simulated data) and I am in the process of developing the special metadata for it, so this one will take a while.

Data Management is still entering some data sets that were filed years on paper. You can look at these from the Web document above.

Please revise these lists and let me know if there is something I am missing... I have been updating them constantly and I understand they reflect what you have given me...so if no one complains, I will understand I am up-to-date.

Next thing: we will be changing old metadata forms (used to be 3) to the new form (now one). At the same time I will be revising the contents and be asking you for more information if needed. (Specially the project description and the G.P.S. coordinates).

At the same time, since we already hired a Web person that will take care of the "bells and whistles" of the Web site, we will be changing its format. The Data Management Committee met on March 1, and we have several models to select from.

On April 1-4 I will be attending a workshop on Ecological Metadata for which I was invited. The workshop is sponsored by NCEAS and the Network Office (the Net) at will be held at the Net. Afterwards, I will stay to finish developing our Metadata Web form. The idea is that you use the Web to enter the metadata in the future.

I consider that the Web is not finished jet, but we are in a better shape than 6 months ago. With your cooperation and that of the Data Management Committee, I have full confidence that we will be ready for the submission of the proposal before this year end... Thanks,
