Colleagues:

In order to increase our capacity to meet the needs of the CTE, we are
seeking two volunteers to assist our technicians with field work.
Please make this opportunity (described in the attached announcement)
available to any recent graduates that you think would be appropriate
for this position.

In other good news, Jill and I have made funds available to create a
new technician position at El Verde. The work of this person will focus on

the LFDP and phenology projects (now partially funded by an LTREB
grant), thereby reducing the demand on the other technicians and
freeing them to work on the CTE and other LTER projects. We are currently
negotiating the appointment with a selected candidate.
