Hi: Thank you for calling. My family and I are well, thanks God. We really didn't suffer much except for a few days without water and electricity (but we were prepared for this). Not everybody had our luck, though. There are still homeless people all over the island. It was a scary, specially for the children, since it was their first experience. For my husband and I, it was the first hurricane we experienced crossing along the center of the island. Its winds were furious and the whole system had a lot of energy. The worst thing was that it lasted too long (it lowered its linear speed to 14 mi/hr when it entered the island) and the worst winds (~140 mi/hr) hit us during nighttime. The vegetation was shredded, but it is already recuperating. At work we got water and electricity three days after GEORGES left us, but it wasn't until yesterday afternoon that we got our connections back. EDA
