Trophic specialization, biogeography,
and the exponent of species-area curves: a meta-analysis of bromeliad invertebrate
communities. Barbara and Mike Richardson, Luquillo LTER and Diane Srivastiva,
Biodiversity Research Centre, University of British Columbia, Canada are testing
the Trophic Rank Hypothesis (Holt, R.D.et al.1999. Ecology 80:1495-1504) using
data from the LEF Puerto Rico, Dominica, and Costa Rica, at the Pitilla Reserve,
which is run by the Guanacaste Conservation area. It is hoped to extend the
area of study in the Caribbean to St Lucia and in Costa Rica to the Monte Verde
area.
