El Verde Update

El Verde has telephones!  The new telephone system at El Verde Field Station is installed and working.  If you want to telephone us dial 787-764-0000 then the number 1 and then one of our extensions.  It is the same procedure as when calling UPR Rio Piedras.

The complete list of extension numbers is on the web at
http://luq.lternet.edu/places/NameExtELVERDE.htm

If you have problems or do not find a number, just call Olga Alvarez, the station's administrator, at the extension 6730.

The new dormitory building at El Verde is taking shape.  Even with all the rain during these past weeks, the construction of the new dormitory is progressing as planned.  If you are curious about how the new construction is looking, visit our web site and browse the recent pictures of the new dorm.
