New Grant/Instrument:

I have received a grant from NSF Major Research Instrumentation Program titled: "Acquisition of a Capillary Genetic Analyzer for Research at Universidad del Turabo" The instrument will be available at a minimal cost to any student and scientist in the Luquillo LTER for sequencing, and TRFLP analyses. Also, identifications of fungi and bacteria from pure culture will be possible using MicroSeq.

Conference:

I would like to announce the IX Latin American Botanical Congress will be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from June 19-25, 2006.
