I am on sabbatical for the 2005-2006 year. For the fall semester I am at the Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO, 80523-1499, USA. My phone number is 970-4911990. Email is the same as always (wsilver@nature.berkeley.edu). I am working primarily with Bill Parton on papers from the LIDET dataset and on modeling Luquillo data using Century.

On 24 August 2005, the Luquillo Mountains HELP Project held its first Water and Sanitation Dialogue. About 25 scientists, water managers and NGO representatives meet at the IITF Conference Center to learn about new research projects and to talk about water issues in the Luquillo Mountains. The meeting was the first of a series of water dialogues across the LM region including the eight municipalities located in the Luquillo Mountains. The Luquillo Mountains HELP Project is a UNESCO/WMO global initiative aimed at improving the linkage between hydrology and society using catchments as study units. For more information please visit the Luquillo Mountains HELP Project web page: http://www.luquillohelp.upr.edu.
